JSC «Information-Analytic Center» completed conducting the field trial of the computer-based PISA-2018 assessment (April 2017).

From 63 schools and 2 technical-vocational colleges located in Astana and Almaty cities and Akmola, Pavlodar, North-Kazakhstan and South-Kazakhstan regions 3120 15-year old students have been sampled.

The aim of the field trial is to collect data in order to identify probable issues associated with the test and questionnaire items and make corrections, if necessary, for the Main Survey that will be conducted in 2018.

All collected field trial materials will be sent to the International Consortium for data analysis.

PISA is a large-scale assessment that is oriented to measure 15-years old students' literacy in reading, science and mathematics. The main domain for the PISA-2018 will be students' literacy in reading. Moreover, Kazakhstan will participate in the fourth domain of the PISA assessment - students' global competency.

JSC "Information-Analytic Center" thanks the regional, district and school coordinators, principals, test administrators and IT staff for their assistance in the implementation of the PISA-2018 field trial in Kazakhstan.
