30th September. World Economic Forum published the Global Competitiveness Report for 2015-2016. According to the report, Kazakhstan took the 42nd place in the ranking among 140 countries, moving up 8 positions in comparison with last year results.

In comparison with the results of the ranking last year, 5 out of 12 indicators of science and education were significantly improved. They are -  "Quality of scientific research institutions" (+18), "Internet access in schools" (+15), "Availability of scientists and engineers" (+13), "Availability of specialized training services" (+11), "Quality of the education system" (+9).

The positions of Kazakhstan in "Quality of primary education" (+1), "Tertiary education enrollment" (+1) and "Quality of math and science education" (+1) has been improved slightly.

Our positions in two indicators remained stable – "Secondary education enrollment" and "University-industry collaboration in R&D".

However, following the gaps in the statistics’ calculation methods, our position in “Primary education enrollment” indicator declined (-2). It should be taken into account that 2012 year data were used in the report. Besides it, Kazakhstan lost its position in "Quality of schools of management is recorded” (-9).
