On January 21, 2019 the OECD released a report “Trends Shaping Education”. The report, published every 3 years, examines major economic, political, social and technological trends affecting education.

For the first time the report includes a new section on future’s thinking inspired by foresight methodologies. The report reflects the role of education in preparing society for an age of artificial intelligence, the impact of climate change on schools, families and communities. Each chapter of the report finishes with both probable and unanticipated ways of current trends’ development.

The report is intended to provide policymakers, educators, leadership and teachers with reliable data on international comparative trends that determine education for schools, universities or programmes for older people.
