The regional forum of Central Asian coordinators was held in the frame of the fourth round of the Torino Process

The European Training Foundation (ETF) organized the Regional Forum of the Torino Process (TRP) in Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic) during September 14-16, 2016.

The main objectives of the meeting was to discuss and agree on the overall direction, priorities and cross-cutting issues of technical and vocational education in Central Asian countries. Participants also discussed the long-term vision and priorities for the development of VET in the region.

The delegation from Kazakhstan also participated in the forum.

The initial results of country reports on all building blocks were presented by national coordinators. Participating countries have identified similarities and differences in the development and implementation of vocational education policy. Greater attention was paid to quality of the report in every country with special emphasis on evidences.

Also Kazakhstani coordinators presented the practice of the national education system database that was used in the Country Report at the request of the ETF. It was noted by the participants that there are no analogues of such database throughout Central Asia.

The ETF experts provided consultations on the TRP 2016 executive summary for participating countries.
