REGIONAL SEMINAR ON EDUCATIONAL STATISTICS AND INDICATORS IN EASTERN EUROPE, CENTRAL ASIA AND SOUTH CAUCASUS

A seminar on educational statistics and indicators in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and South Caucasus was conducted between 18- 21 April 2016 in Istanbul by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS). 11 countries participated in the seminar. Kazakhstan was represented by the Deputy Director of the Strategic Planning and Coordination of MES Myra Meldebekova, chief analyst at JSC "IAC" Lyazzat Shakirov and chief expert of the MNE SC of RK Zhuldyz Aidarbekova.

During the bilateral negotiations of Kazakhstan and representatives of UIS Danil Yezhov and Aurélie Acoca  a comparison of national indicators to the International Standard Classification of Education has been completed, also  UIS’s recently  introduced and spread national statistics were reviewed.  

The topics of the seminar were the recent changes in the UIS questionnaires as well as the review of national, thematic and global statistical indicators for monitoring educational goals of sustainable development Agenda in education until 2030.
