Summary of Kazakhstan's participation in the work of the OECD EDPC
In November 2017, Kazakhstan received an invitation to become a member of the OECD Education Policy Committee.
On April 12, 15–16, 2021, Kazakhstan took part in the 29th meeting of the OECD EPDC online. The session focused on the big picture of secondary education in OECD countries after one year of the coronavirus pandemic: missed learning opportunities; distance learning during school closures; support for pupils and schools during the reopening of schools; revision of examinations and assessment methods; support for teachers; funding education during the pandemic; distribution of responsibility in decision-making.
On November 16–17, 2021, Kazakhstan attended the 30th meeting of the OECD Education Policy Committee which was organized in a hybrid format. At the meeting, members and invited countries discussed the progress report on the implementation of the work and budget of the EPDC for 2021-22; development of an international assessment of the professional skills of students enrolled in the program of vocational education and training; the transition of students to upper secondary education; and the work of the OECD in higher education. In addition, the project on creating better opportunities for young people, the results of the work on the global forum on the future of education and skills until 2030, as well as the presentation and discussion of plans for the organization of the upcoming Skills Summit 2022 were discussed.
